Team Spectralab
congratulates Team India for winning the
world cup. The fantastic performance created an inspirational effect
raising the confidence in everyone – even if he / she is not
connected with cricket. We also saw a string of Indian sporting
victories – in soccer, hockey and now cricket – in quick succession.

What is moisture
vaporization method ? When it is used ?
The moisture vaporization
method is used to determine the moisture in samples of solids that
cannot be dissolved in solvents or samples that include interfering
substances. The moisture content is vaporized by heating the sample
in a low flow of dried Nitrogen gas. It is then captured in a
dehydrated solvent and subjected to Karl Fischer Titration.
SPECTRALAB offer you, specially designed Karl Fischer Oven
that enables you to determine the moisture in such
difficult samples with accuracy and convenience.

now the facts
Unlike standard volumetric analysis it is not
possible with Karl Fischer Titration simply to fill burette
with Karl Fischer reagent and add drop wise in the flask that
is exposed to atmosphere. This is
because the
|
reagent reacts very quickly
with atmospheric moisture. In such case the end point will
never be achieved.
( For the same reason all
models of Spectralab KF titrator are designed with all glass
KF vessel to avoid entry of moisture. The tubing &
connectors also are carefully chosen to take care of this
problem.) |
